Images from Experiments

Maternal and fetoplacental uptake of fluorodeoxyglucose Gestational day #20. Control (left), dexamethasone treated (right), and euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp (right).
Fetal uptake of fluorodeoxyglucose. PET/CT imaging after maternal administration of fluorodeoxyglucose and iodinated intravenous contrast. Gestational day #20. P=placenta (radiodense with contrast); F=fetus (radiolucent); K=kidney (maternal).
Fetal Pancreatic Islet A single fetal rat islet, gestational day #20, in situ, insulin is red, Ki67 is green, TOPRO3 is blue. (Staining and microscopy by Dr. Younes.)
Fetal Islets in the Pancreas Rat fetal pancreas, gestational day 20, were immunostained for insulin, bright green. (Staining and microscopy by Dr. Younes.)
PET imaging with fluorodeoxyglucose. Gestational day #20. Awake: left; anesthetized: right.
3T3L1 Adipocytes Differentiated 3T3L1 adipocytes were stained with adipored (green channel) and DAPI (blue channel). Epifluorescence images were merged with a phase contrast image to give a pseudo-3D quality. Notice that we captured a dividing 3T3L1 adipocyte (bottom right)!
